An update to your sponsorship

Child Sponsorship is increasing to €25 per month

From next month, monthly sponsorship will increase from €22 to €25, unless you choose otherwise.

That €3 increase works out at just 10 cents a day — but in communities facing rising food prices, funding cuts, and growing humanitarian crises, it makes an enormous difference.

2024 marked a turning point globally, with severe cuts to overseas aid, escalating humanitarian crises and conflict, and soaring food and living costs in vulnerable communities

For the first time since Plan International Ireland was founded in 2003, we must increase the cost of sponsorship. This decision was not taken lightly. We know many families here in Ireland are also feeling financial pressure.

But without this adjustment, we risk falling behind at a time when children need us most.

What your support makes possible

On a recent visit to Liberia, our team saw first-hand the impact of rising living costs on families already facing hardship. Yet teachers, caregivers and women leaders continue to show extraordinary commitment to protecting children and advancing their rights.

With your support, we can continue to:

  • Provide safe, quality education

  • Protect children from harm and exploitation

  • Deliver emergency food and humanitarian assistance

  • Support girls’ rights and gender equality

  • Strengthen local leadership and community resilience

Last year, 95 cents of every €1 went directly to protecting and advancing the rights of children and vulnerable communities.

Your sponsorship is not just a donation. It’s stability. It’s protection. It’s opportunity.

What happens next?

If you are in a position to continue your sponsorship at €25 per month, you don’t need to do anything. The increase will take effect in at least four weeks.

If this increase isn’t possible for you right now, we completely understand.
