Network and Alliances Plan

We believe that lasting change is achieved through collaboration. By working in partnership with national and international networks and alliances, we strengthen our impact, share expertise, and amplify collective advocacy on the issues that matter most to children and girls.

Irish Emergency Alliance (IEA)

Plan International Ireland is one of seven members of the IEA, an alliance of leading humanitarian agencies who have come together to respond faster and do more to help rebuild the lives of people affected by major emergencies worldwide.

We have decades of combined experience and are active in over 80 of the world’s poorest countries, often working closely with local partner organisations.  Last year alone, we mobilised to support people affected by more than 20 disasters and conflicts worldwide, operating in some of the most difficult situations.

Irish Network for Education Worldwide INEW

The Irish Network for Education Worldwide (INEW) is a network of civil society actors and education stakeholders in Ireland advocating for inclusive, equitable, and safe quality education for all worldwide, with a commitment to reaching the furthest behind. As a membership organisation with 29 members, we connect and represent a diverse range of Irish development and humanitarian aid NGOs, school and university teacher unions, global citizenship education organisations, and more. We act as a national platform for knowledge exchange, dialogue, and collaboration, driving advocacy efforts and influencing policy in Ireland and internationally to realise the right to education worldwide.

The Irish Network for Education Worldwide also serves as the Irish Coalition within the Global Campaign for Education (GCE), a global civil society movement championing education as a basic human right.

Irish Consortium on Gender Based Violence (ICGBV)

The Irish Consortium on Gender Based Violence (ICGBV) is an alliance of Irish humanitarian and development organisations, Irish Aid, and the Irish Defence Forces. The Consortium was formed to address the high levels of sexual violence being perpetrated against women and girls in Darfur, Sudan, in 2005. Together, we work to increase knowledge and understanding of GBV, amplifying the role, participation, and contributions of grassroots and women’s rights organisations. We strive to ensure high quality programming and policy responses across the humanitarian and development contexts in which we work, and to build leadership to support our shared vision of a world free from GBV.”
