Plan receives funds from a variety of sources:
Child sponsorship
More than 8,500 children are sponsored through Plan Ireland. Globally more than a million committed supporters sponsor children. These supporters are Plan's largest source of funds, their continuinig financial support allows Plan to support children and their communities with sustainable projects that encourage long-term self-reliance.
EU and Irish Government funding
Plan Ireland receives funding from from Irish Aid, the official overseas aid division of the Irish government and a number of corporate and private funds.
In February 2010 Plan Ireland was awarded European Union grants for two development projects in West Africa.Claiming tax relief on your donation
Please download the Revenue Commisioners form on this page so Plan Ireland can claim the income tax you have paid on donations. If you sponsor a child for €22 a month and are on PAYE at the standard rate of 20% it will mean an extra €62.50 is available to Plan. If you pay at the higher rate of 41% your donation is worth an additional €173.73
