Sudan is now the world’s largest displacement crisis.

The conflict in Sudan has created the world’s largest child displacement crisis, leaving millions of people, especially women and children, at severe risk of hunger, malnutrition, and violence.

Your generous donation can help keep children, and especially girls, from harm and provide them with essential resources such as food, water, hygiene supplies, and medical care. And our dedicated teams in Sudan and neighboring countries are working to deliver psycho-social support and create safe spaces for children and especially girls, who are most at risk in a crisis.

Your donation can provide critical support to those in need:

  • 25 Euros can provide a dry ration and safe water kit to families struggling with daily hunger.
  • 40 Euros can provide women with dignity kits so that they can manage their periods and general hygiene with dignity.
  • 150 Euros can provide shelter to children and families.

The Crisis

Since hostilities broke out on April 15, 2023, the situation in Sudan has rapidly deteriorated:

  • 17.7 million people (37% of the population) are facing high levels of acute food insecurity.
  • 4.9 million people are in IPC Phase 4 (Emergency), at risk of catastrophic hunger.

The Impact on Women and Children

The brunt of this crisis is borne by the most vulnerable, in particular women and children.

2.9 million children are already acutely malnourished, with 729,000 children under five suffering from severe acute malnutrition, the deadliest form of hunger.

Women and girls are at increased risk of gender-based violence, including sexual violence, as they struggle to access food and resources. They are often forced to make impossible choices between starvation and safety and reports indicate that women and girls are resorting to survival sex to access food.
