Blathnaid is Plan's Ambassador for girls

Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh launches photo exhibition

Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh launches Plan Ireland's photo exhibition to mark international Women's day at Trinity Colege Dublin.

TV presenter Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh has, to say the least of it, a hectic schedule and like women the world over she has had to get used to juggling the demands of family and work.

Last September Plan Ireland asked Blathnaid to become involved with the launch of the “Because I am a Girl” campaign and without any hesitation she agreed.

Since then she has really taken the campaign to heart and has agreed to become an Ambassador for Plan Ireland and the “Because I am a Girl” campaign in particular.

She is not the type to simply lend her name to a cause or stand in to the occasional publicity photo. Recently she spent a morning in the Plan Ireland office talking to staff and finding out about the issues facing children and girls in particular, in the developing world.

Having absorbed “an incredible amount of information” she left several hours later promising to “help to get the message out there”.

True to her word Blathnaid has since done several major newspaper interviews in which she does just that.
